Day 17: Love on the Big Road

I was a bulldog
Out on the big road,
Ridin’ my double nickel in the granny lane.
She was a triple-digit ride,
Driving by braille with a hot load
In the hammer lane,
Burnin’ to get somewhere.
Don’t ask me how we found ourselves
Greasy side up in a pickle park
In the Bikini State,
The motion lotion flooding our tanks
And a clean shot ahead.
I told her maybe
I’d catch her on the flip flop
But she left me in the breakdown lane –
Blew my doors off and put it in Georgia overdrive,
Lit out down the zipper lane and
Out of sight – left me
Running on sail boat fuel with
Nothing between my swindle sheets.
